How to play

  1. Choose BOT PLAY to play offline, or PLAY ONLINE to host a party, join with a code or invite link, or pick an open game.
  2. Pick a hiding style (Hide and Paint or Prop Hunt) and a game type (Classic, Red vs Blue or Infection), then choose one of the four maps.
  3. When you are a hider, paint your character to match a surface and freeze in a pose, or copy a prop and hide among the real ones.
  4. When you are a seeker, hunt with a toy paint blaster. There’s no radar, so use your eyes. In Infection, every tagged hider joins the seekers.
  5. Rounds are short. Bots fill empty spots so a solo player or a two-person party still gets a full match.

FAQ

Where can I download Mecca Gecko?

Mecca Gecko is out now on the App Store for iPhone and iPad (iOS 15 or later). The Android app is distributed on Google Play as Mecca Gecko, package com.codecreations.meccagecko. It’s free with optional in-app purchases.

How do I invite friends?

Host a party from PLAY ONLINE and tap COPY INVITE LINK. Friends who have the game can tap the link to open it straight into your party. You can also share the six-letter party code. Everyone needs the app installed.

How do I lock my room or play without bots?

In your party’s lobby settings, choose LOCK ROOM WITH A PIN. Anyone joining by code will need the four-digit PIN, but your invite links still work without it. To play only with people, choose FILL: HUMANS ONLY. You’ll need at least one hider and one seeker.

What can I buy?

All launch maps are free. The shop offers individual characters and emotes, plus consumable diamond packs. Diamonds can also buy single-use powerups. Details: Shop.

I paid but my item did not arrive

For a character or emote bought through Apple or Google Play, open Settings → General → Restore Purchases with the same Apple Account or Google account. Diamond packs cannot be restored. If a payment is still missing, contact support with the item name and purchase date; never send passwords or full payment details.

Can I play alone?

Yes. Bots fill the room so you can practice painting, hiding, and seeking.

Microphone permission

Optional proximity / party voice. Decline the prompt if you do not want voice. The game still plays.

Report, mute, or block another player

During a party, open Settings → General → Player safety. Choose the player to mute voice, report a reason, or block. A guest who blocks leaves the party; a host removes the blocked player. Blocks and mutes are saved on your device. If reporting is unavailable or fails, email support with the party code, approximate time, and what happened. Do not include passwords or private installation credentials.

Replays and exported videos

Recording is optional and starts off. Enable Record future matches in Settings → Game → Replay recording to record future matches. A red REC · REPLAY indicator appears while recording. Turn the setting off to stop and discard the current recording. Replays contain the characters, names, paint, movement, and events your device saw; they do not contain microphone or voice-chat audio. Open Clip Studio to delete recordings or in-app exported videos. Deleting an original does not remove copies saved to Photos, Files, or shared elsewhere.

The game is huge / download failed

The world is full of props. Use Wi‑Fi, keep a few gigabytes free, and retry. If it keeps failing, tell us your device model.

Something crashed

Email support@valuxgames.com with the time it happened. If you can, Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Analytics Data, and attach the latest crash.

Delete my data / close an account

See Privacy. No separate Mecca Gecko account is needed. Email us to request access to or deletion of information we hold. Apple purchases stay on your Apple ID, and Google Play purchases stay on your Google account. Those ledgers belong to Apple and Google, not to us.
