Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Mecca Gecko app and meccagecko.com. If you do not agree, do not use the app or site.

1. The game

Mecca Gecko is a party hide-and-seek game. The download is free. All launch maps are included. Optional purchases include permanent character skins and emotes and consumable diamond packs, at the price displayed by Apple or Google Play in the app. Diamonds may be spent on shop items including single-use powerups. There is no subscription. Apple’s Media Services Terms apply to anything you buy through the App Store. Google Play’s terms apply to anything you buy through Google Play.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to play the app on Apple devices you own or control, via the App Store, and on Android devices you own or control, via Google Play. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or cheat in a way that harms other players.

3. Fair play

Characters and emotes are cosmetic. Single-use powerups change gameplay; rounds with powerups are excluded from public Game Center scoring. Do not share abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, threatening, or otherwise illegal names, paint, or voice, and do not harass other players. Use the in-game mute, report, and block controls or contact support about a safety concern. Access may be restricted for violations.

4. Your paint & names

You keep whatever rights you have in the silly names and paint jobs you create. You give us a license to show them to other players in your match. Don’t paint or name anything illegal or that you don’t have the right to use. Players may keep local replays and export gameplay videos containing your display name and paint. Share recordings responsibly and respect others’ privacy and rights.

5. Multiplayer

Internet parties use an online relay. Protected internet matches run on a dedicated game server that simulates the match. Other parties may use a player’s device as the gameplay authority. Connection quality depends on player networks and service availability.

6. Refunds

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Start at Apple’s refund service or your purchase history. Refunds for Google Play purchases are handled by Google. Start from your Google Play purchase history.

7. Disclaimer

The app and site are provided “as is.” Entertainment software. We disclaim implied warranties to the fullest extent the law allows. Our liability for any claim related to the app or site is limited to the amount you paid us for the app’s purchases in the 12 months before the claim, except where the law says we cannot limit liability (including for fraud or personal injury).

8. Kids

The game uses stylized characters and toy paint blasters. Online players can share names, paint, and optional live voice; their content is not pre-reviewed. The app is not enrolled in Apple’s Kids Category or Google Play’s Designed for Families program. Parents should decide if it is right for their household. Voice chat, if enabled, is a real microphone.

9. Changes

We may update the game and these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date.
